Perekotiy | Family

Denver, CO

I honestly don’t even remember the first time I met Madison. But it was probably sometime about 2007, which is when I first met her family - the year that changed the Davie family forever (and that’s a story for another time!). Madison and I have spent time in Ukraine together, specifically in the eastern part of the country, which is where we met Yura. Yura worked at a Bible camp for at-risk children that two of my siblings actually went to before they were adopted. Madison and Yura met in Ukraine in 2008 at this camp and got married a few years later! After living in Alabama for a while, they moved to Ukraine in 2018. Madison and Yura were serving in Odesa engaging the unreached deaf community, partnering with Heritage Ukraine, and leading trainings on trauma and attachment.

From Madison and Yura: “Our heartbeat has always been caring for the vulnerable and fatherless. Our vision is to see Christ proclaimed as we serve vulnerable children and families with national partners and churches.”

Madison and Yura and kiddos are currently in the U.S. as they had planned a trip back to see family and friends and connect with partners and supporters. Since being in the U.S. the war in Ukraine has unfolded and they are now watching the devastation of their home unfold from afar.

If you are looking for a way to give financially to help those affected by the war in Ukraine, the Perekotiy family has set up a war relief fund, which you can access here. If you’d like to learn more about how funds are being used or would like to follow along with the Perekotiys, I encourage you to follow Madison on Instagram at @theperekotiys.
